The wildcraft brewery reopened to the public this year — two-stepping and live bands every Sunday, 2 to 7

Beerburg, the wildcraft brewery out on Fitzhugh Road, closed its taproom in early 2024 and spent a while as a private event venue. It's open to the public again: there's a new outdoor beer garden, and on Sundays the place turns into a dance hall with live country bands.

The news. The beer garden had its grand opening and a Dripping Springs Chamber ribbon cutting on May 28, 2026. The part locals have taken to is Sunday Dance Hall: doors open every Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m., with live music from 3 to 6. Cover is usually $10 when a band is playing and free when it's a DJ playlist. Coming up: The Merles (Sept. 27), Hot Texas Swing Band (Oct. 4), 3 Chord Rodeo (Oct. 11) and Fingerpistol (Oct. 18).

The place. Beerburg sits on a 15-acre property on Fitzhugh Road, run by siblings Ross, Trevor and Elizabeth Nearburg. The beer garden is planted with the same native species that end up in their beer — prickly pear, mesquite, mustang grape, flame leaf sumac, persimmon, yaupon, redbud — so you're drinking among the ingredients. Sundays center on a 40-by-30-foot dance floor, with boot wax stations around the edge. Seating is first come, first served; you can reserve a table for $50 by emailing [email protected]. There's a 100-car lot, and the venue describes itself as queer-owned and inclusive.

What's pouring. All house beer, brewed on site. The year-round list includes Trail Driver (hazy IPA), Devil's Claw (West Coast IPA), Pibble (pilsner), La Violeta (a 4.5% Mexican-style lager) and Paz, an amber lager made with blue corn. The wildcraft series is where it gets interesting: a juniper IPA called Arborgeddon, a yarrow Berliner weisse, a pecan-and-mesquite brown ale, a honey witbier. There's Texas wine and cider for non-beer drinkers, plus house kombucha, house-made sodas and hop water.

Food is light: a complimentary house-made nut mix and snacks, with the occasional food truck — check their social pages. Outside food isn't allowed because of licensing, so eat before you come if you're staying for the whole show.

Good to know. Sunday is the sure thing. Beerburg's website also lists outdoor beer-garden hours Thursday through Saturday, 3 to 9 p.m., but private events take over the property on some days — check Instagram before a weeknight drive. The mailing address says Austin, but it's out on Fitzhugh Road in the Dripping Springs countryside.
