After a short, unexplained closure last month, a new owner has the beer garden running again — and it's now the last Dog Haus standing in the area

Dog Haus Biergarten

Dog Haus Biergarten on E. Whitestone Boulevard went dark for a few days last month, and neighbors noticed. It's back now, under new ownership, slinging the same Hawaiian-roll hot dogs that made it a lunch and happy-hour regular since it opened here in December 2023.

The story. New owner Robert Mason bought the location and reopened it after a closure of a few days. Following a brief closure last month, Mason purchased and reopened the Whitestone Boulevard location in Cedar Park. He's not stopping there — Mason added that he plans to open more Dog Haus locations in the Austin area. He's also started giving back locally: Mason said he is looking for ways to give back to the community through the restaurant, including by offering free meals for kids on Sundays.

Worth knowing if you used to split time between the two closest locations: the other Dog Haus location in the area, on FM 620 in northwest Austin, is permanently closed, according to Mason. This Whitestone Boulevard spot is now the only one left in the immediate Cedar Park/northwest Austin area.

The vibe. This is the same beer garden setup regulars know — a dog-friendly patio, a full bar, and a menu built around build-your-own hot dogs. The space includes a dog-friendly patio and full bar with 24 beers on tap and signature cocktails. Dog Haus has evolved from a destination known for chef-driven hot dogs, sausages, and burgers into a restaurant known for bringing people together over a wider variety of chef-driven favorites, with a menu that now features handcrafted smashburgers, chicken sandwiches, wings, sharables, breakfast burritos, premium dogs and sausages, plant-based items, and craft beer and beverages. Everything still comes served on Hawaiian sweet rolls, plus chicken, breakfast burritos and plant-based meats.

What to order. The Haus Dogs are the whole point — the Downtown comes smoked bacon, caramelized onions, pickled peppers, mayo, mustard & ketchup atop a Creekstone Farms premium angus beef dog on a grilled King's Hawaiian roll for $11.99, and the Old Town adds smoked bacon, caramelized onions, chipotle aioli, pickled jalapeños and cotija cheese for the same $11.99. Want something sweeter and smokier, there's the Cowboy, topped with smoked bacon, cheese sauce, crispy onions and BBQ sauce for $11.19. Beyond the dogs, regulars point to the breakfast burritos (served all day) and the beer list — 24 taps worth working through.

Good to know. Happy hour runs Monday through Friday from 3–6 p.m. with discounts on pints, Haus cocktails, wine, sliders, wings and loaded tots — worth timing a visit around if you're not in a rush. Regular hours run later on weekends, so this is an easy post-game or after-work stop.
