⭐ FEATURED SPOT

The Honeysuckle (Wimberley / Devil's Backbone)

The Vibe — Perched out on the Devil's Backbone, The Honeysuckle pairs unfussy Southern comfort food with an open-air rooftop bar and some of the best panoramic Hill Country views you'll find with a fork in your hand. It's the kind of place you drive to for the sunset and stay at for the third order of mac and cheese.

Must-Order Items — The kitchen leans into hearty Southern classics: a proper seared ribeye, gumbo, pork chop, Gulf snapper, and a lineup of wings, tenders, and burgers. Round it out with the sides — mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, asparagus, green beans — and a cocktail with a little kick from the rooftop bar.

Pro Tip — Time your visit for golden hour and head straight up to the rooftop for the Backbone views. They're closed Mondays and Tuesdays, so aim for a Wednesday-through-Sunday run, and weekends run late (til 10pm Friday and Saturday).

🍷 DRINKS WATCH — NEW ON THE WINE & BEER TRAIL

Quiet week on the wine-and-beer trail — no brand-new tasting rooms poured a first glass. The one to keep watching: Beer Ranch Project's ranch-house brewery is still on the way to join its Wimberley tasting room. We'll pour the details the moment it lands.

RECENTLY CLOSED

Good news this week — nothing permanently shuttered around the Valley. A few spaces just changed hands: the old Saucy Bros trailer is now Hays County Burgers Y Mas, the former Dos Olivos Market is now Howdy Neighbor, and the old Fair Dinkum space is now BenCo Provisions. We'll always flag real closings here first.
