Birria is coming to Whitestone. Mike's Red Tacos, a San Diego birria shop, picked Cedar Park for its first restaurant in Texas.

  • It started as a food truck and grew into three San Diego shops, with Pasadena next.

  • The Cedar Park lease was signed by CW Strong Restaurant Group, led by CEO Brian Cassidy and partner Sam Wong. Their group also runs more than 20 Dave's Hot Chicken locations.

  • They're planning 8 to 10 Texas locations. Cedar Park is first.

What to expect

  • Red tacos. Crispy, Tijuana-style beef birria tacos with a cup of consommé for dipping.

  • Birria three ways. The same beef goes into tacos, quesadillas and ramen.

  • Halal-certified beef, according to the company.

When

The target is April 16, 2027for a roughly 3,000-square-foot space on E. Whitestone Blvd. That's an estimate, not a promise.
