State filing names "Neighbor's Cafe" for Suite 205 at 4900 Bee Creek Road — the address Winston's has run since 2023

A new name has surfaced in the paperwork for one of Spicewood's most-visited coffee-and-pizza counters. A state alcohol filing submitted September 10 asks for a mixed-beverage permit — a full liquor license — plus a food-and-beverage certificate for Suite 205 at 4900 Bee Creek Road. The application was made with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission for a mixed beverage permit by ALM Restaurant Group, LLC dba Neighbor's Cafe, located at 4900 Bee Creek Rd, Suite 205, Spicewood, Travis County, Texas 78669.

What's coming. The filing points to a full bar — hard liquor, not just the beer-and-wine setup currently on hand — landing at an address locals already know well. Whether "Neighbor's Cafe" replaces the existing shop entirely, operates alongside it, or is simply a new trade name for the same operation under new paperwork hasn't been spelled out anywhere public yet.

Where and when. The suite in question is the original Winston's, which was first established just outside of Lakeway in August 2023, built around breakfast and lunch items like toasts, acai bowls and juices as well as wood-fired pizzas, beer and wine. The family later expanded to a second location in Bee Cave, but this filing covers only the original Spicewood suite. As of this week, Winston's is still operating there under its own name — the TABC application is the only public sign anything is changing.

Who's behind it. The permit lists ALM Restaurant Group, LLC as the applicant, with Justin Dalton listed as manager on the filing. No connection between ALM Restaurant Group and Winston's current ownership has been confirmed publicly, and neither side has put out a statement. That leaves open the real possibility this is a change of hands rather than a rebrand of the same business.

What we don't know yet. Nobody's said whether Neighbor's Cafe is a new name for the same pizza-and-coffee shop, a different operator taking over the lease, or a parallel concept moving into the same suite. The menu, hours, and what happens to Winston's existing setup are all unannounced. We'll update this post the moment anything is confirmed — new signage, a social post, or a straight answer from either party.
