🔝 TOP 3 IN 10 SECONDS

🆕 Liberty Hill's getting a P. Terry's — the Austin burger chain just filed a ground-up build at Liberty Hill Crossing, with construction starting in 2027.

🆕 This week's Craving answers the patio question you asked us: The Grove Wine Bar & Kitchen's twinkle-lit courtyard in Cedar Park.

🆕 A new state filing puts a two-story restaurant and bar on the books for Old Town Leander's Brushy Street corridor — Haywire, the Texas farm-to-table chain, with a address wrinkle we're still sorting out.

🏗️ COMING SOON & NEW FILINGS

🆕 P. Terry's Burger Stand (Liberty Hill) — The Austin-based burger chain just registered a ground-up build at Liberty Hill Crossing, next to Wag-A-Bag and Domino's on Hwy. 29. It's a 4,056-square-foot restaurant on a $950,000 budget, filed under longtime P. Terry's exec Monty Montgomery. No opening date yet — construction isn't slated to start until January 2027 — but it's the chain's first confirmed Liberty Hill address.

⏰ ETA: TBD (construction window Jan.–July 2027)
📍 Address: 10990 TX-29, Liberty Hill, TX 78642

📞 Phone: TBD

🆕 Haywire (Cedar Park / CedarView) — The Texas farm-to-fork chain's new CedarView location just landed a $5 million ground-up filing for a 14,284-square-foot restaurant with covered and uncovered patio space, construction running March to November 2027. Here's the wrinkle: Community Impact's earlier coverage put Haywire's CedarView address at 1005 E. New Hope Drive, but this week's filing lists 805 E. New Hope Drive under the same ownership group. We're treating them as the same project for now, with the address still to be nailed down. It'll be the chain's sixth Texas location and second in the Austin area.

⏰ ETA: Late 2027
📍 Address: 805 E. New Hope Dr. (per this week's filing) / 1005 E. New Hope Dr. (per earlier reporting), Cedar Park, TX 78613 — address TBD

📞 Phone: TBD

🆕 Deft Pies (Cedar Park) — A pending TABC Mixed Beverage application shows the InterStellar BBQ/Yellow Bell Tacos crew filing for a second Austin-area outpost of their tavern-style pizza concept, this time just over the border on RM 620 N. We're hearing it would land in the same strip-center stretch that's become a bit of a destination row near the 78750 line. No word yet on timeline, but the lineage alone has neighbors paying attention.

⏰ ETA: TBD
📍 Address: 12233 Ranch Rd 620 N, Ste 104, Cedar Park, TX
🌐 Website: TBD
🍴 Menu: TBD
📞 Phone: TBD

🆕 Meatshop at Liberty Hill (Liberty Hill) — A filing shows a new butcher/meat shop is planning an interior remodel inside a 1,099-square-foot suite at the Vista @ 29 retail center on Hwy. 29. The $120,000 project suggests a real build-out rather than a placeholder, so neighbors may soon have a local source for cuts without a drive into Austin. No name details beyond "Meatshop" have surfaced yet, but it's one to watch.

⏰ ETA: TBD
📍 Address: Vista @ 29, Liberty Hill, TX 78642 (suite TBD)
🌐 Website: TBD
🍴 Menu: TBD
📞 Phone: TBD

On the radar: two state filings still sit at 208–210 N. Brushy St. in Old Town Leander — a two-story, $2.7 million restaurant and bar, plus a $1.5 million café-speakeasy next door — with construction now penciled in for December 2026 through September 2027 and no operator named yet; Lemberg Roastery & Bakery's build-out at The Square at Crystal Falls is also still moving, with the Ukrainian-inspired coffee-and-bakery concept now targeting early 2027 and a drive-through planned.

The menu runs coffee, tea, smoothies and Fuel energy drinks, plus pastries and all-day breakfast food. Same lineup of Haus Dogs, burgers, sandwiches and burritos, and Mason plans free kids' meals on Sundays. He's eyeing more Austin-area locations, though the FM 620 Dog Haus in northwest Austin has closed for good.

Sharks Burger (Leander)

Dino and Peter Bullara and Chris Piccininni have been flipping never-frozen Angus patties at Sharks Burger's original Hero Way location since 2017, and the family-run burger joint — tucked inside a Shell gas station — has become the kind of only-in-Leander spot regulars drive past three other burger places to reach. The menu runs build-your-own burgers, specialty builds like the Great White Cheddar Bacon, crispy chicken sandwiches and an early breakfast menu with tacos and sandwiches starting at 6:30 a.m. A second location on Ronald Reagan Boulevard has kept the original's recipes and the same hand-cut approach to every order. Pro tip: the Hero Way location opens at 6:30 a.m. daily — get there before the lunch rush for a shot at a table.

🍷 DRINKS WATCH — NEW ON THE BEER & SPIRITS TRAIL

Nothing new on the trail this week. San Gabriel River Brewery's Oktoberfest wrapped last Saturday, and Pinthouse's New Hope Drive brewpub is still tracking toward the second half of 2027.

😋 THIS WEEK'S CRAVING — PATIO / OUTDOOR

This week: Patio / outdoor

🍽️ The Grove Wine Bar & Kitchen (Cedar Park) — Readers asked for the best patio around, so here's our pick: a leafy, twinkle-lit courtyard on E. Whitestone Boulevard that regulars call the most romantic seat in town, heaters and all when it's chilly. The New American menu runs thin-crust pizzas, a crab cake, burrata salad and an extensive wine list that's earned its reputation as a date-night staple, but it's just as easy to grab a weekday lunch out there. Brunch is also a patio-worthy event, with a creme brulee French toast that's become a signature order. No reader picks were typed in for this week's patio question, so we went with the spot that keeps coming up in every "best patio" conversation in town.
