The self-pour beer garden from Four Points wants to double its size on Bee Cave Road
Neighbors who've been pouring their own flights at the original Oz. on Ranch Road 2222 have been hearing this one for a while now: a second location, bigger than the first, going into the old Rocco's Grill building on Bee Cave Road. It's still not open. But it's also not dead — just slow.
What's coming. Oz. Tap House, a family-friendly beer garden and restaurant, is set to bring its craft brews and local fare to Bee Cave, offering around 40 craft beers, ciders, cocktails and wine taps, with a menu that includes burgers, charcuterie, chopped salads and more. The new spot will include indoor and outdoor seating with a playscape, game nights, live music and community events. Owners have also described plans for a location twice the size of the original, with two patios — one for family and one for adults — and a family space featuring playscapes for kids.
Where and when. Locals may recognize the Bee Cave spot as the former home of Rocco's Grill, set for 12432 FM 2244 / Bee Caves Road. That's the Italian neighborhood restaurant that closed after years on that stretch of Bee Cave Road near Highway 71. Oz. first flagged the move publicly back in 2024, with an opening originally pegged for spring or summer 2025. That date has clearly slipped — it's now well past that window with no new storefront up and no opening announced, which is exactly why this is still filed under rumor rather than fact. The most specific timeline on record from ownership was "probably early summer," though no exact opening date was planned as of that conversation.
Who's behind it. This will be the second location for owners Krista and Sean Kanter, who also run the restaurant in Four Points. That original spot opened in 2019 as one of the first self-pour beer and wine concepts in the state — guests get an RFID card at the host stand and serve their own pours off a tap wall, a gimmick that's held up well enough to make a second location worth betting on.
What we don't know yet. No confirmed opening date, no construction timeline, and no sign yet of permits moving or a build-out underway at the Bee Cave Road address. We also don't have a Bee Cave-specific phone number, hours or menu — those will presumably mirror the Four Points location once plans firm up. We'll update this post the moment there's real movement on the ground.
Keep an eye on Oz. Tap House
