A real butcher case, house-made charcuterie, and a cheesesteak worth crossing town for
If you've ever stood in a Northeastern deli — the kind with a glass case full of meats, a guy behind the counter who talks while he slices, and a sandwich board that takes a minute to read — you already know what Turcotte Butchers & Delicatessen is going for. And you'll know within about thirty seconds of walking in that they've nailed it.
Erik and Christin Turcotte moved down from the Boston area in 2018 and brought their deli roots with them. What they built in the Commons off Highway 290 is a genuine butcher shop and delicatessen: crafted meats, house-made charcuterie, and sandwiches assembled the way they were assembled back home. Five years on, it's still a family operation, and it still runs on the thing that makes a neighborhood deli work — the people behind the counter know the regulars, and the regulars know them right back. More than one review gets around to the food eventually and leads with the staff.

What to order: the cheesesteak is the one people send you in for, and it earns it. From there, The Rachel — the smoky, slaw-topped cousin of a Reuben — and The Californian both have their own committed followings, and the argument over which is better is a fine way to spend a lunch. Don't leave without walking the butcher case. The crafted meats and charcuterie are the whole reason a place like this exists, and it's the difference between grabbing lunch and actually stocking your kitchen for the week.
Good to know: they cater, they'll handle private parties, and you can order online if you'd rather skip the line. And keep an eye out for the trailer — the same family recently launched The Iron Grind, a smash burger and wing trailer now parked at FairLane: Cocktails and Coffee out on Ranch Road 12. Deli counter by day, smash burgers by night, same folks behind both.
