🔝 TOP 3 IN 10 SECONDS
⭐ Rosie's Tamale House (Bee Cave) is this week's Featured Spot — the Arriaga family has been hand-wrapping tamales on Highway 71 since 1973, and the recipes haven't changed since.
😋 This week's craving answers a reader question about breakfast tacos: MorninGlory (Lakeway), the Lohmans Crossing brunch spot that's quietly become the go-to taco stop before 3pm.
🆕 4 Sisters Bar & Pavilion just opened at Vino Tramonto Cabins in Spicewood — a pool, a pavilion, and cocktails on County Road 413.
🏗️ COMING SOON & NEW FILINGS
🆕 Hudson Bend Market (Lakeway (Hudson Bend)) — A TABC filing shows a wine-only package store application from MS Joint Venture LLC at the spot long known for Los Pinos Mexican, which has since closed up for good. No word yet on whether this is a straight-up bottle shop or part of something bigger, but neighbors who remember the building's long restaurant run will want to keep an eye on it.

✅ NOW OPEN (LAST 60 DAYS)
Quiet week for new restaurant doors — no food business crossed into our 60-day window in Lakeway, Bee Cave, or Spicewood this week. (Spicewood's new 4 Sisters Bar & Pavilion opened this month too, but it's a cocktail bar with snacks, not a kitchen, so you'll find it under Drinks Watch below.) The next new spot to open around the lake will show up here first.
⭐ FEATURED SPOT
Rosie's Tamale House — Bee Cave
Rosie and Joe Arriaga started out selling tamales from a converted gas station at the corner of Highway 71 and RR 620 back in 1973, and more than fifty years later the family is still behind the counter on the same stretch of 71, a quarter-mile from where they began. The tamales are still Rosie's own recipe, wrapped by hand and sold by the dozen, but the menu has grown into a full Tex-Mex spread — enchiladas, crispy tacos, chili con queso, chicken-fried steaks and T-bone dinners — and breakfast tacos and huevos rancheros show up most mornings too. It's unapologetically old-school: no liquor license, no frills, just a dining room full of regulars and a wall of photos going back decades. Pro tip: hours shift a bit by day of the week (closed Tuesdays), so call ahead before you drive out — and get there hungry, because the portions don't hold back.

🍷 DRINKS WATCH — NEW ON THE WINE & BEER TRAIL
🆕 4 Sisters Bar & Pavilion (Spicewood) — The newest stop on the Hill Country tourism strip just opened inside Vino Tramonto Cabins on County Road 413, and it's built for lingering: a full-service bar pouring handcrafted cocktails and Texas wine, a covered pavilion, a resort-style pool you can swim in while you sip, and live music. The family behind it — four sisters who run it alongside the cabin resort — just finished relocating the last of the group from California to Spicewood to run things in person. There's no real kitchen here, just drinks and snacks, so think "sunset cocktail stop" rather than dinner plans, and know that two covered pickleball courts and more cabins are coming to the property in 2027.
⏰ Opened: October 10, 2026

😋 THIS WEEK'S CRAVING — BREAKFAST TACOS
When the new-opening board is quiet, we point you to a neighborhood staple worth the trip, and this week we asked readers where they get their breakfast tacos around the lake. The votes haven't come in yet, but the spot that keeps winning local polls and reviews is a Lohmans Crossing brunch counter that opens at 7am sharp.
MorninGlory (Lakeway) — Open daily from 7 to 3, MorninGlory runs a tight, scratch-made breakfast and brunch menu out of its Lohmans Crossing storefront, and the breakfast tacos — your choice of bacon, sausage, chorizo or turkey with scrambled egg, potatoes and cheddar-jack in a corn or flour tortilla — are the move if you're in and out before the lunch crowd. It's first-come, first-served and the kitchen closes at 2:45 sharp, so don't roll in at 2:50 expecting a taco. Beyond the tacos, locals rave about the breakfast burrito and the tres leches French toast, with good coffee to wash it all down.
