✅ NOW OPEN (LAST 60 DAYS)
No brand-new spots crossed into our 60-day window this week — but now that we cover Steiner Ranch, here's one worth catching up on: Farmand's Family Kitchen at 5145 N RM 620, a family-friendly kitchen from restaurateur Tony Farmand (with a Culinary Institute–trained chef) doing salads, burgers, and sandwiches alongside cocktails, beer, and wine. We'll have a fresh opening for you here soon.
⭐ FEATURED SPOT
The Bull Pizza Co — Steiner Ranch
The Vibe — A wood-fired Neapolitan pizzeria that's equal parts gastropub and family-friendly sports bar, from owner Dave Fernandez — serious food, dialed-in drinks, and a backyard where the kids (and the dog) are welcome.
Must-Order Items — The 90-second wood-fired pies (the Fig & Prosciutto and BBQ Chicken lead the board), plus gastropub plates like the double Kobe smashburger, honey-Dijon salmon, and gambas al ajillo.
Pro Tip — It's a sports bar with a playground and a pet-friendly patio, so it works for game day and family night alike — the Pizza Pit runs late Fri–Sat, and they're open Wednesday through Sunday.

😋 THIS WEEK'S CRAVING — COFFEE SHOP
A quiet week for brand-new spots is a good week to point you somewhere that's been getting it right for ages. This week we're craving a proper neighborhood coffeehouse.
Cafe Lago (Lakeway) — the Village Square mainstay that's been pulling espresso and baking from scratch for 16-plus years. It's a real artisanal coffeehouse and kitchen, not a drive-thru window: lattes, cappuccinos, and mochas alongside a gourmet breakfast, quiche, homemade soups, Boar's Head deli sandwiches, and a case of fresh pastries. It's a mornings-through-early-afternoon spot, so make it a slow breakfast or a relaxed working lunch.

🏗️ COMING SOON & RUMORED
Quiet week for brand-new announcements — nobody broke ground on a new project this week — but the pipeline we've been tracking is still cooking. In Lakeway, Cousin Louie's is transforming the former League Kitchen & Tavern space on S RR 620 into a red-sauce, family-recipe Italian-American spot — from the T4C & Co. team behind Tony C's and Mighty Fine — with the build-out underway and no hard open date yet. And on the rumor front, the Oz. Tap House beer garden is still eyeing the former Rocco's Grill space on Bee Cave Road. We'll flag the next new one the second it surfaces.
📑 ON THE RADAR — NEW FILINGS & PERMITS
No fresh restaurant filings or permits hit the Bee Cave, Lakeway, or Travis County logs this week, and the state's alcohol-license board is still showing zero pending applications across the area. The forward signals already on our board are the ones to watch — the Coming Soon build-outs above, plus Thomas Ranch, the massive new Spicewood community whose dining pipeline is still taking shape. We'll surface the next new permit here the moment it lands.
🍷 DRINKS WATCH — NEW ON THE WINE & BEER TRAIL
Quiet week on the drinks trail — no new tasting rooms or brewery filings around the lake. Spicewood's wineries (Spicewood Vineyards, Ron Yates, Stone House, Flat Creek) are pouring as always, and the newer anchors — Highway 71 Brewing Co. and Iron Wolf Ranch & Distillery — are up and running if you haven't made it out. We scan this hard every week; we'll pop the cork here the moment a new spot surfaces.
📅 AROUND THE LAKE — THIS WEEK
Even on a quiet week for new openings, there's plenty to get out for. The Bee Cave Farmers Market runs every Sunday, 10a–2p at the Central Plaza in the Hill Country Galleria — local produce, prepared foods, and live music. Out in Steiner Ranch, Steiner Ranch Steakhouse has live music nightly (Howlin' Waters holds down Friday and Saturday). And in Spicewood, Poodies Roadhouse keeps the music going most nights, while the wine-country tasting rooms — Spicewood Vineyards, Ron Yates, Stone House, and Flat Creek — are pouring all weekend. We'll round up the week's food-and-drink happenings here every issue.
❌ RECENTLY CLOSED
Good news — nothing new shuttered around the Valley this week. We'll always flag real closings here first.
