📅 It's Labor Day weekend — head to Spicewood for the Honky Tonkin' Rockin' Revival at Poodie's Roadhouse on Saturday, then the Sunday farmers market in Bee Cave.

✅ NOW OPEN (LAST 60 DAYS)
No brand-new spots crossed into our 60-day window this week — it's quiet around the lake heading into the long weekend. We keep this scan tight every week, so the next new restaurant to open its doors in Lakeway, Bee Cave, or Spicewood will show up here first. Hang tight — we'll have a fresh one for you soon.
⭐ FEATURED SPOT
That's My Jam — Bee Cave
The Vibe — A family-owned, Austin-music-loving brunch café from Randall and Suarta Mershon, tucked into the Shops of the Galleria. Bright, friendly, and built for a slow morning — breakfast and lunch only, then it turns into a private event space after 3.
Must-Order Items — The beignets and the eggs Benedict are the headliners, with omelets and biscuits and gravy right behind them; come lunchtime, the salads and sandwiches carry the back half of the menu.
Pro Tip — It's a 7 a.m.–3 p.m., seven-days-a-week spot, so it's your Labor Day weekend brunch move before the crowds hit the lake — and an easy weekday breakfast meeting, too.

😋 THIS WEEK'S CRAVING — FAMILY RESTAURANT
When the new-opening board is quiet, we point you to a neighborhood staple worth the trip. This week we're craving a proper family Italian dinner.
Giovanni's Table (Bee Cave) — a family-run Italian spot that's been serving generation-to-generation recipes on Bee Caves Road for 15 years. Think from-scratch pasta, wood-oven pizza, chicken parm, and fresh seafood, brought out family-style in a warm, unfussy dining room. It's the kind of place you take the whole table on a Sunday.

🏗️ COMING SOON & RUMORED
Quiet week for brand-new announcements — nobody broke ground on a new project heading into the holiday — but the pipeline we're tracking is still cooking. In Lakeway, Cousin Louie's is transforming the former League Kitchen & Tavern space on S RR 620 into a red-sauce, family-recipe Italian-American spot from the T4C & Co. team behind Tony C's and Mighty Fine, with the build-out underway and no hard open date yet. And on the rumor front, the Oz. Tap Housebeer garden is still eyeing the former Rocco's Grill space on Bee Cave Road. We'll flag the next new one the second it surfaces.
📑 ON THE RADAR — NEW FILINGS & PERMITS
No fresh restaurant filings or permits hit the Bee Cave, Lakeway, or Travis County logs this week, and the state's alcohol-license board is still showing zero pending applications across the area. The forward signals already on our board are the ones to watch — the Coming Soon build-outs above, plus Thomas Ranch, the massive new Spicewood community whose dining pipeline is still taking shape. We'll surface the next new permit here the moment it lands.
🍷 DRINKS WATCH — NEW ON THE WINE & BEER TRAIL
Quiet week for new tasting rooms — no fresh brewery or winery filings around the lake — but Labor Day weekend is a fine excuse to hit the ones already pouring. Spicewood's wineries (Spicewood Vineyards, Ron Yates, Stone House, Flat Creek) are open all weekend, and the newer anchors — Highway 71 Brewing Co. and Iron Wolf Ranch & Distillery — are up and running if you haven't made it out. We scan this hard every week; we'll pop the cork here the moment a new spot surfaces.
📅 AROUND THE LAKE — THIS WEEK
It's Labor Day weekend, so there's plenty to get out for. Saturday (Sept. 5), Poodie's Roadhouse in Spicewood throws its annual Honky Tonkin' Rockin' Revival — live music and comedy from 3 p.m. to midnight, $20 at the door (bring two food donations for Spicewood Helping Hands and knock $5 off). Sunday, the Bee Cave Farmers Market runs 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Central Plaza in the Hill Country Galleria — local produce, prepared foods, and live music. And Steiner Ranch Steakhouse has live music nightly all weekend if you want lake views with your dinner. We'll round up the week's food-and-drink happenings here every issue.
❌ RECENTLY CLOSED
Good news — nothing new shuttered around the Valley this week. We'll always flag real closings here first.
